Will Dr. Amy personally review my results?
If you select "WITH" when ordering a test: Your results will be reviewed and commented on by Dr. Amy at no additional cost.
To avoid any delay, please promptly fill out your Supplement List and Client History Form.
Your Supplement List and Client History Form can be located, saved, submitted, and updated within Your Health Companion.
If you select "WITHOUT" when ordering a test: Your results will not be reviewed by Dr. Amy.
How will the results be provided?
If you select "WITH": As soon as Dr. Amy has made her suggestions, you will be notified via email to log into Your Health Companion for results.
If you select "WITHOUT": As soon as your results arrive from the lab, you will be notified via email to log into Your Health Companion for results.
Your Health Companion is a secure client portal where your current and future test results, Supplement Lists, and Client History Forms will be saved.
If I select "WITH" when ordering a test, can I still get my results back before Dr. Amy comments on them?
No, you will receive results after Dr. Amy reviews and comments.
What type of sample is needed?
A hair sample from your head is required.
Can I use anything other than head hair? (Such as eyebrow, facial, pubic, etc.)
No. Head hair samples only; all other samples will be discarded.
How long does it take to receive results once the lab receives the sample?
Results take approx 3-4 weeks.
Can this test be performed internationally?
Yes. We have clients across the globe who perform this test.
Is shipping the sample included in the cost of the kit? *Shipments to UAE/Dubai DO NOT have prepaid shipping.
Yes. A prepaid USPS shipping envelope is included. If you opt for a faster, trackable service, the shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.

Can a print-out version of the results be requested?
No. You may print out the results once you receive them.
How much hair do I need to submit?
All hair must be at least 1 inch long; with a total weight of .25 grams. It is recommended to cut hair from 5-6 different locations on your head. If the sample does not meet these requirements- the lab will cancel the sample.
What is the best tool/device to use to collect my head hair sample?
Use scissors only. The use of clippers or a razor could lead to contamination issues- and are not suggested. Do not use hair that has fallen out; use cut hair only.
If the lab cancels my sample, what happens?
HHI will send an email informing you of the cancellation. Store credit will also be issued for the cost of the kit. If you wish, you may order a new test and try again to submit a sample that meets the lab’s requirements.
Is a scale included with the kit to weigh my sample?
Should I pull the hair out or do I need to cut it?
Cutting your hair sample is required, do not pull it out. Cut as close to the scalp as possible.
I just dyed, bleached or permed my hair, can I still run this test?
Yes, simply check off the box on the requisition form.
Do I need to stop taking supplements before collecting the hair sample?
No. Keep taking the supplements you are currently taking- as directed by your health care professional.

Will my insurance cover this test?
Any attempt at reimbursement for this test through your insurance company lies solely on the customer.
