Description for SNP NOS (nitric oxide synthase): The NOS enzyme plays a role in ammonia detoxification as part of the urea cycle. Individuals who are NOS + + have reduced activity of this enzyme. NOS mutations can have additive effects with CBS up regulations due to the increased ammonia that is generated by the CBS up regulations.
