The Urine Amino Acids (UAA) Test measures levels of excretion of 43 amino acids and their metabolites and evaluates the nutrient status of essential and non-essential amino acids in urine. Amino acid analysis can help identify a wide range of concerns, including the status of dietary protein, gastrointestinal dysfunction, protein intolerance, hepatic and renal function, vitamin and mineral deficiencies and susceptibility to inflammatory response and oxidative stress. This test may be useful for those who suspect inadequate protein utilization and atypical metabolism of amino acids.
